Spa in the city raises £4,000 for Maggie’s cancer centre

Staff at Edinburgh based insurance provider Bright Grey raised £4,000 for Maggie’s cancer centre at its Spa Spectacular evening on Wednesday night (12 October).

Comedian Craig Hill provided the laughs while an army of beauticians and massage therapists pampered, preened and polished the 140 guests at the city’s Ghillie Dhu.

Fiona Holmes, PR Officer at Bright Grey said:

“When someone is diagnosed with a critical illness such as cancer their whole world can fall apart. Sometimes they need more than just medical support and Maggie’s provides vital emotional and practical support for those living with cancer and their families.

“We are delighted that we have been able to support the Edinburgh centre by holding our Spa Spectacular event for the third year running. To date we have raised a fantastic £11,000 for Maggie’s, from what has become a popular annual event.”

Marion Taylor, Community Fundraiser for Maggie’s Edinburgh said:

“I am delighted to see how much Bright Grey have raised for the charity. It’s fantastic that Maggie’s started right here in Edinburgh. And the huge growth to 15 centres is testament to the great need of Maggie’s Centres in providing people with the space and skills needed to face cancer.”

Marion added: “I would encourage others to get behind our 15 years 15 centres campaign. Why not set yourself the target of raising £15, £150 or £1515 towards Maggie’s Edinburgh. Get in touch and I can help you come up with ideas on how to get involved - 0131 537 3135.”
