Tea for Maggie's

A cup of tea helps people visiting Maggie’s Centres feel at ease and relaxed.

You can help Maggie’s to keep the tea flowing by organising your own tea party and raising money. Here are some ideas to get you started

Tea party

• Host a themed tea party – play the Mad Hatter in your very own Alice in Wonderland or hold a 1920s tea for two themed party for the flappers and gents you know
• Put on the Ritz and hold a high tea and cucumber sandwiches afternoon
• Sell tea and cakes at work - get your colleagues to chip in a little extra and get it served by your boss
• Everyone loves a cream tea, so get out the clotted cream and sell those scone

Tea and bits

• Get your knitting group or crochet circle together to create some trendy tea cosies or fancy food covers and sell them for Maggie’s
• Ask your local tea shop or cafe to donate money from tea sales for one day
• Biscuits are perfect with tea, make some cookies and sell them to your neighbours and colleagues

Tea on the move

•   Get sponsored for drinking your cuppa at the highest, furthest or most unusual place on earth (though maybe not whilst scuba-diving)
•   Why not tea dance Brazillian-style and get our local samba teacher to give some lessons with the proceeds going to Maggie’s
•   Hold a ‘tea-world’ fancy dress party with costumes from India, China, Sri Lanka and
Yorkshire?!

If you are planning on doing a fundraising event or have any ideas, we would love to hear from you and support you where we can, so please do get in touch
