“Above all, what matters is not to lose the joy of living in the fear of dying”

About Maggie's

Calmness, clarity and a cup of tea

Our unique approach to cancer started with our founder Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Maggie lived with cancer for two years. During many hospital visits at that time she became aware that there was nowhere to turn to for support with the emotional side of what she was dealing with.

Determined to change this, she created an idea for a space where people could go when they were feeling vulnerable. A place that would allow those with cancer to get information, feel in control and, by being in the company of others who were experiencing exactly the same thoughts and fears as they were, realise they were not alone.

Although Maggie passed away in 1995, her idea lives on today in the wonderful centres that bear her name.
