Glasgow Women's 10k Race
May 2008

The 2007 Maggie's 10k team raised over £20,000! We were absolutely delighted with the total raised but just as importantly the 10k was a brilliant way to raise awareness of Maggie's and the support services we offer.
If you are interested in taking part in the Glasgow 10k for Maggie's Centres please get in touch with Kirsty on 0141 330 3368 for a registration form, sponsor sheets, information on how to set up an online giving page and a Maggie's T-shirt.
Further, we are having a open night for the 10k in Maggie's Glasgow on Tuesday 6th May between 6pm and 7pm. This is a great opportunity to meet others running the 10k for Maggie's, to have a look around the Centre and find out more about the support services we offer. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided!A HUGE thank you from Maggie's!
We would like to thank everyone who has helped us to raise money for Maggie's Glasgow.

April 2008

Tom Moore, the manager of The Rock in Hyndland, Glasgow, has been fundraising for Maggie's Glasgow.
On Friday 11th April 'Johnnie and the Flatliners' held a gig at The Rock - the night was a roaring success.
On Sunday 6th April Dot and Donna from Guerlain and Biotherm (@ House of Frazer) hosted a ladies night to raise funds for Maggie's. A team of tarot readers from the Scottish Psychic Centre came along to provide entertainment. A range of top end cosmetic hampers and goody bags, generously donated by Guerlain and Biotherm, were raffled off throughout the night, raising over £300.
After the week of fund and awareness raising, the team at The Rock raised a grand total of £604.
Tom plans to host more events over the next couple of months. We would like to thank Dot, Norman & co and the customers at The Rock without whom none of this would have been possible.

Delizique, a delicatessen in the West End of Glasgow, sells Kirsty Wark's Banana Bread with all proceeds coming to Maggie's. Staff at Delizique have said that once people try the banana bread they just keep coming back for more.
After seeing this, a small gallery along the road from Delizique decided to support Maggie's too. Mansfield Park Gallery are currently exhibiting the work of Scottish Artist Helen Wilson and one of the pieces she has painted for the show is entitled 'A Portrait of Kirsty Wark's Banana Bread' - it is a beautiful little painting 8"x 8" and priced at £500, the subject of course is self explanatory. Helen and the gallery's owner Victoria Cassidy decided to donate all the proceeds from the sale of the painting to Maggie's Glasgow.Maggie's Fashion Show raises over £12,000!
