“Maggie's London is the first support centre to provide psychological and emotional support for all cancer patients, their families and carers. To my knowledge, there is nothing else like it. This is a unique and really exciting concept. I feel certain my patients will benefit from it”

Professor Charles Coombes, Professor of Cancer Medicine and Head of Cancer Services, Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust

  • Raise a ton for Maggie's London

In the first few months since Maggie’s London has opened its doors, we are asking local people to raise £100 to support the new centre.

We need to raise £250,000 every year to provide free practical, emotional and psychological support to people in London living with cancer and we would really appreciate your support with this.

Here are some examples of how your £100 could be spent:

    •    We estimate that it costs £24 per visit to Maggie’s, so your £100 would go towards helping 4 people in your local area
    •    Massage oils and tables for our Complementary Therapies Team
    •    25 Cancerbackup booklets for our library

  • Raise a ton for Maggie's London: Fundraising Ideas

    From January 2008

    Collection can and money

There are many ways to raise £100, some ideas are below to help you get started:

    •    Invite your friends over for a movie night, charge them £10 to enter and provide them with a choice of films and some sweet treats
    •    Bake some cakes and hold a tea party in your office, charge your colleagues to attend and also for each cake!
    •    Give up chocolate for a month and ask your friends and colleagues to sponsor you

If you decide to join in and raise a ton for Maggie’s then let us know if you would like any fundraising advice.

As a thank you for your donation you will be given a certificate, a limited edition Maggie’s pin badge and your name will be mentioned on our Roll of Honour on our website.

We have fundraising materials such as posters, balloons and collection cans which can help you with your fundraising. If you would like to order some materials then please contact Leah on 07920 848825 or leah@maggiescentres.org
