The Maggie's Great North Run team

“Running with so many people raising money for charity is rewarding, uplifting, and the opportunity to help many people! We have all known or lost someone with cancer, this is an excellent way to raise funds, get fit and make a real difference!”

Cyclists on a Maggie's Sporting event

freshnlo Pedal for Scotland is now open for registration for 2010 - and this time there’s three options to choose from. Scotland’s biggest bike ride just got even bigger!

    Challenge Ride

The ride is typically around 50 miles long. Though that might seem like a huge distance, by riding at a gentle pace and making use of the rest stops, it is not as difficult as it sounds! Unlike running, cycling lets you chat away, enjoy the scenery sweeping past and barely be out of breath. There are no limits - all it takes is a bit of enthusiasm and some preparation and you will enjoy a fantastic and rewarding experience. Last year we had 7000 participants do this ride!

    Sportive Ride
At 100 miles, this ride is better suited to keen regular road cyclists. If you have ridden the Challenge Ride in previous years, and finished in less than 3 hours, then this could be a natural progression.

    Family Ride
This 3 mile circuit on off-road paths through the park at Glasgow Green is suitable for anyone. This Ride is aimed at families and beginners and will have entertainment and games on the day including live music by The Singing Kettle, face painting, and outdoor activities such as a cycle skills course.

To find out more about each ride and to register please visit the Pedal for Scotland website and don't forget to tick the box saying that you wish to fundraise for Maggie's!
