Major Giving – Individuals, Grant-makers, Trusts & Foundations

At Maggie’s we depend on support at all levels to run our vital services for people affected by cancer. As we expand from our Scottish roots to develop new centres and services in England and Wales, it is more important than ever before, that we secure major contributions of £10,000 and above from individual supporters, grant-makers, trusts and foundations. Our commitment to building more centres for the people who need them requires substantial and long-term investment.

Support something that matters to you

If you would be kind enough to consider making a major gift to Maggie’s there are a number of ways we can apply such a contribution to our work.

One of our priorities is our new Joy of Living Campaign to build five new centres in England and Wales by 2012. Perhaps you would be interested in contributing to a specific centre or even a particular part of that centre? Perhaps you would be interested to contribute towards the salaries or running costs of our new or existing centres?

Whatever your particular area of interest, Maggie’s will work with you to identify the area you would most like to support and ensure you continue to be involved in the progress of your chosen project. We would also be pleased to discuss recognition opportunities with you.

Making your gift work harder

If you would like to support Maggie’s with a major gift we would be delighted for you to spread your gift over whatever time period suits you best.

We will work with you to make sure we maximise the value of your support through the Gift Aid scheme. If you are a higher rate tax payer, there is an even greater incentive to give in this way.

Donating gifts of shares

Maggie’s can accept large gifts of shares (e.g. to help fund the building costs of a new centre) or small gifts of shares. All share gifts are important to us. We want to make the process simple and effective to you.

Who do you know?

Perhaps you could introduce us to someone who could make a major gift. If you know someone who might be interested to find out more about and the difference their support could make and the impact we are having on the lives of people affected by cancer, then we would really like to hear from you.
