Volunteering
Could you be a Maggie's volunteer?
Without volunteers, our events simply can’t go ahead.
We always need volunteers to help at events and fundraisers. So if you are interested in volunteering for us, we would love to hear from you!
Current Volunteer Opportunities
At the moment, we're looking for people to take on the following roles:
• Fundraising Support - Gleneagles, Scotland
Maggie's Lanarkshire is looking for enthusiastic, golf-loving volunteers to help collect donations during the Johnnie Walker Golf Championships - 26-29 August 2010.

• Corporate Support - London
We are looking for a committed individual to take on the role of a Corporate Support Volunteer, becoming part of the Corporate Partnerships Team at Maggie’s office in London.
Maggie’s fundraising team work with a number of companies on exciting fundraising partnerships - working together to raise money for people affected by cancer. As Maggie’s grows its network of cancer caring centres, we are seeking to grow the number of companies we work with and as Maggie’s Corporate Support Volunteer you would play a vital role in making this happen. This is an ideal position to gain some experience of corporate fundraising and working within the charity sector and/or could be a fantastic opportunity to use your understanding of the commercial sector to help grow Maggie’s portfolio of corporate supporters.

Plus:
Edinburgh Moonwalk - 19 June 2010
A huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers who gave up their Saturday night and a lie-in on a Sunday to help staff the water station for Maggie's at the Edinburgh Moonwalk.
Our volunteers did a wonderful job and kept the walkers well watered, with a smile on their face, at both the 4 and 24 mile markers. It was an amazing experience to see all these women (and men) pounding the streets of Edinburgh in their bras.
Visit our Volunteer at Events page for more opportunities like this.
And there are many other ways you can help. We've listed a few below:
• Join your local Active Friends fundraising group.
• Volunteer at a Maggie's event such as Monster Bike and Hike, London
Night Hike, Glasgow and Edinburgh Life Walks and various running
events.
• Organise your own fundraising event such as a Pudding Club, parachute
jump or anything else you can think of!
• Help in your local area, which could involve volunteering at local
events, raising Maggie's profile in your area, distributing collecting
cans, displaying posters or selling Christmas cards.
• Work from home, in your local centre or at one of our head offices,
by supporting a range of fundraising research or administration
activities. We also have a variety of short-term project management
roles.
