Maggie's Edinburgh Life Walk
The 3rd annual Edinburgh Life Walk took place on Saturday 1st November 2008.

Over 250 people took part in the walk on a glorious sunny day in Edinburgh.
Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles greeted walkers as they made their way to the registration tent to pick up their t-shirts and a cup of tea. Shortly before 10am, Maggie's Edinburgh Centre Head, Andrew Anderson thanked everyone for coming along to show their support. Heather Morrison, a centre user and supporter, then talked emotionally and inspirationally of her experience of using the centre and the difference it makes.
After a 5-minute warm-up, the walkers were on their way, passing the Scottish Parliament and making their way up the Royal Mile. Walkers then made their way down The Mound, round by the Botanic Gardens and stopped after 5-miles at Maggie's Edinburgh.
Maggie's Edinburgh opened in 1996 and in 2007 the centre received over 16,000 visits. Walkers received soup, sandwiches and cups of tea and got a chance to have a look around the centre that they were raising funds for.
After relaxing in the late morning sunshine, walkers set off up the hill and made their way though the meadows and back to Holyrood Park for a well deserved cup of tea and a medal.
Thanks very much to everyone that took part in a memorable day.
Special thanks to the People's Postcode Lottery, St Margarets and Erskine Stewarts Melvilles schools for entering such large teams.
