Record numbers turn out in the rain for Maggie's 3rd annual Glasgow Life Walk
Maggie's Glasgow Life Walk took place on the 6th anniversary of Maggie's Glasgow Centre opening.

Over 350 people turned up to Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow in the pouring rain to warm-up for the Walk. The weather only helped to raise people's spirits, with everyone pulling together to have a laugh and remember what the event was all about.
Many of the walkers had used the centre, or knew someone that had used the centre. Some dressed for the weather, while others opted for fancy dress to brighten up the grey skies.
After registering, local band The Souvenirs lifted the mood with a soundtrack of songs by the likes of Van Morrison, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Abba, before walkers were led through a warm-up that was defnitely required!
Walkers included Jenni Keenan Green from River City, who was walking with her Mum in memory of centre user and great Maggie's supporter Sheila Hughes. Many of the Tuesday Girls from the Glasgow Centre were taking part and there was a real sense of "we're all in this together."
The walk went along Sauchiehall Street, through George Square, around Glasgow Green, along the Clyde, across Glasgow's famous Squinty Bridge and finished at the Glasgow Centre with a welcome cup of tea, sandwiches and cake. Thanks very much to all that took part.
Special thanks to Ryden for sponsoring the walk and thanks very much to the Ryden team for their amazing support in 2008.
