Maggie's Grand Glasgow Ceilidh

Kirsty Wark hosted a spectacular ceilidh at the Winter Gardens on Saturday in aid of Maggie's Glasgow Centre.

The Maggie's patron and Scottish broadcaster was joined by approximately 180 guests, with VIP'S including Ford Kiernan and his wife Lesley, Fred MacCauley and renowned Scottish artist Archie Forrest, to help raise money for the centre at the Western Infirmary.

Many prominent Scots from the world of business and arts attended the evening at the stunning Winter Gardens, which included a glamourous champagne reception, a three course meal, entertainment form the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and a Silent and Grant Auction.

Kirsty Wark, who has been a Patron of Maggie's for over six years, said: "I was so pleased to once again host Maggie's Glasgow fundraising dinner. It was a glamourous and enjoyable evening and we raised a lot of money despite the tough economic times. Having visited the centre on many occassions I know how vital a service that the time there provide. Thank you to all who attended for directly helping the thousands of people affected by cancer across the west of Scotland to build a life beyond the disease."

Kirsty Hodge, Maggie's Glasgow Community Fundraiser, said: "Our thanks go to Kirsty for her continued support and all those who attended and made the evening a massive success. The great sum of money raised will help Maggie's Glasgow to continue to expand upon our vital and varied programme of support."
