Visions of the Western Isles Exhibition

John Lowrie Morrison OBE, the artist better known as Jolomo, will exhibit 60 paintings from 21 - 27 November at The Sage Gateshead.

Morrison is best known for his vivid and colourful paintings of the West of Scotland. His works are very popular and can be found in homes around the world including those of Sting and Her Majesty The Queen.

A percentage of the sales from this exhibition will be donated by the artist toward the appeal to build a Maggie’s Centre in the North East, which will be built at The Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

Jolomo has a long-standing link with the North East of England, having exhibited with Corrymella Scott Gallery since 1998. In 2001 they went to Hong Kong, and his first show at The Air Gallery, London in 2002 drew collectors from all over the world. Jolomo's exhibitions are now an annual feature of the London gallery scene.

Morrison is delighted to be back in this region “I love the North East of England, having spent some time on family holidays at Alnmouth on the Northumberland coast and I am delighted to support the Maggie’s Centre North East, it will be an inspirational place and I am pleased to see that art therapy is high on their agenda for patient support."
