Design and the Joy of Living: New Designers – Thursday 30 June 2011
Visit New Designers to hear Max Fraser in conversation with top ‘Joy of Living’ designers.
As the official charity Maggie’s will feature at New Designers from Wednesday 29 June to Saturday 9 July. Designed and furnished by Coexistence, the Maggie’s stand will aim to recreate the feeling of walking into a Maggie’s centre and will be focused around the Maggie's kitchen table.
At New Designers, Maggie's will be extending Max Fraser's Joy of Living project, which unites leading designers to create original graph paper artworks. Some of the most popular Joy of Living designs will be on display, with limited edition prints available to buy. The proceeds from these sales will go towards Maggie’s and you can see a list of designers below.
Furthermore, Maggie's will be introducing an interactive element to the stand by encouraging exhibiting students to create their own original artwork on graph paper, the best of which will be displayed and for sale.
Maggie's will also feature in the 'Thursday Lates Talks' Programme. On Thursday 30 June, at 6pm designers Hannah Martin, Jon Harrison and Two Create from the ‘Joy of Living’ project will come together with Max Fraser, editor of the London Design Guide to discuss ‘Design and the Joy of Living’.
