Radio 1's Edith Bowman supports her local centre
Radio 1 presenter Edith Bowman is supporting Maggie's Fife as the centre enters it's third year.

The centre, the first building in Britain to be designed by award winning architect Zaha Hadid, was opened in November 2006 by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah.
The centre has received terrific support from the local community, with the Fife Free Press helping to raise awareness about the centre and the important role it plays in the lives of people living with cancer and their family and friends.
Edith Bowman said; “As a Fifer I am extremely proud of the continued support for Maggie’s in the Kingdom. People of all ages from all walks of life have really proved the range of different ways people can raise money for Maggie’s from simple ideas like dress down days, coffee mornings and sponsored silences to fundraising parties and live band nights.”
The centre costs around £300,000 per annum to run and Edith was keen to encourage Fifers to continue to support the centre in 2009.
Edith continued; “Fundraising is an excellent way to have fun with friends and every penny counts towards the £300,000 running costs of our Maggie’s Centre – it would be fantastic if even more Fifers pledged their support and got involved with Maggie’s in 2009.”
