Larynx (laryngeal/voicebox)

larynx is the medicinal name for the voicebox whilst the medical name for the throat is the pharynx. The larynx is the part of the respiratory tract between the pharynx and the trachea (windpipe) and is the part where the digestive and breathing systems separate.

The larynx is where your voice is produced, helps air get to your lungs and protects your windpipe when you swallow.
