Living with cancer

Care at home

Being cared for in your own home may feel preferable at any stage of your cancer. Help and support once you're discharged from hospital can be provided by many different services, from the social services/NHS, volunteers, charities and paid private healthcare.

In some areas you can access home chemotherapy. There are some hospitals and private healthcare companies who have home chemotherapy nurses. They will come to your home to administer your treatment. In addition, supported discharge packages are provided by some areas of the country.

The following links provide further information about accessing care at home.

If you have been affected by cancer in some way and would like to talk to someone about what you have read or need help finding information - you are welcome to drop into any Maggie’s Centre or to visit Maggie’s Online Centre and talk with a cancer support specialist.
