Overseas Challenges

Monday 1 January 2018 - Tuesday 1 January 2019

Have you always dreamed of scaling Everest or trekking the Great Wall of China? Perhaps you are looking for a bit of inspiration for that next big adventure? Taking part in one of these global adventures can be life changing for you and the money you raise can be life changing for those that use Maggie's.

If you are feeling inspired then why not consider some of the ideas below and become an international adventurer all in aid of Maggie's.

Take on an Arctic Challenge!

The perfect antidote to a cold, wet British winter is a cold, dry Arctic adventure! Why not replace the British winter with a Scandinavian wilderness away from the crowds and enjoy mesmerisingly peaceful scenes of frozen lakes and snow-covered pine and spruce forests. A 5 day Artic adventure can include dogsledding, cross country skiing and snow- shoeing in the Finnish wilderness.

Complete the big six!

Do you have the running bug? Are you never happier than when you are pounding the pavements and clocking up the miles? Then why not think about getting sponsored to take on the big six! Collectively known as the big six the marathons of New YorkLondonBerlinChicagoBoston, and Tokyo are the ultimate achievement for any marathon runner and are generally recognised as the best in the world.

Cycle Death Valley!

This 8 day team challenge would see 15 of you take on 420 km across the world famous Death Valley in Nevada in a cycle challenge like no other in the hottest environment in North America! This is a sponsored fundriaisng challenge with a difference.

If any of these ideas have inspired you or you have an overseas adventure of your own in mind and would like to support Maggie's please contact us via email at events@maggiescentres.org.

Although we do not currently offer any of our own places at oversea events we will be happy to talk to you regarding any challenge you are considering and will support you on your journey.

All international trips come with their own risks and should only be undertaken with the guidance of professionals.

How your money helps

Your support means so much to the people affected by cancer who come to our Centres each day. It costs £590,000 a year to keep a Maggie's Centre open, and the money you raise will help your Maggie's Centre continue to provide emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
