Maggie’s Centres offer a range of exercise options, including yoga, tai chi and walking groups.

All sessions are tailored to people with cancer and are flexible to suit your own needs. They can also provide a chance to talk to people going through a similar experience to you.

Evidence shows that exercise offers many benefits, from reducing fatigue and improving your wellness and physical fitness, to building your confidence during and after cancer treatment.

This is a drop-in group session, so there's no need to book.

If someone close to you has died from cancer Maggie’s can help to support you. Our Bereavement Support Groups are a place to speak to others going through a similar experience and find advice, support and strategies for coping.

You can join our regular groups, or you can choose one-to-one bereavement support. They cover both emotional and practical concerns, from the day-to-day impact of bereavement and other relationships, to dealing with anniversaries and rebuilding your life.

Where Now? Support beyond treatment

Where Now? Support beyond treatment

Where Now? is a seven-week course for anyone who has finished their cancer treatment, as well as their friends and family. It offers skills and techniques to support you through this transition period and beyond.

Where Now? helps you manage the physical, emotional and practical issues you may face after your treatment has finished, through a series of group sessions each lasting around three hours. Each session is led by a Cancer Support Specialist and a Clinical Psychologist and offers the chance to explore key issues and concerns alongside other people in a similar situation.

Discussions during the course focus on the following topics:

  • Exercise
  • Healthy eating
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Managing post-treatment challenges
  • Partnering with your medical team
  • Keeping up momentum

This group is for ladies who have, or who have had a gynaecological cancer.   

Group support is available for people with any type of cancer and their friends and families: before, during or after treatment.

Every group provides an opportunity to talk to other people who are in a similar situation to you, and to share experiences. Groups offer a safe space to express emotions you might not want to share with your friends and family. You might learn from those a little way ahead of you in their journey and develop your own strategies for coping.

Support Groups are led by a Cancer Support Specialist and focus on the emotional impact of cancer.

Talking Heads is our hair loss support workshop. Designed for anyone who is anticipating or experiencing hair loss (both men and women), these sessions cover the practicalities of hair loss as well as offering support with its emotional impact.

Share your concerns about hair loss and learn about alternatives such as buying a wig and tying a head-scarf, as well as what happens when your hair grows back.

Our Talking Heads workshop is held every three weeks.
