Expressive writing is a way to explore your thoughts, ideas and emotions, with no skill or previous experience required.

The writing exercises used can help you to slow down, relax and process your thoughts. Feelings that you might otherwise find difficult to put into words can often be more easily expressed through the use of metaphors in poems and stories. Writing in this way can help you to learn to understand your feelings, which may help to build self-confidence.
