These drop-in sessions are designed to create space to help you find some peace and calmness. They can also help to manage stress and improve well-being. Relaxation is guided by talking you through focusing on breathing, connecting with the body and continuing with a visualisation.

Tai Chi has evolved into a number of systems of meditation, breathing exercises and other techniques to maintain health.

It can help release stress and tension and promotes relaxation, co-ordination, muscle tone, increased energy flow, confidence, good posture and balance.

The Pilates method uses controlled movements and breathing to tone and strengthen the body as well as focus the mind. This session is open to people with cancer, their familes and friends, and health professionals.

Reiki, a Japanese word for Universal Life Energy, is a relaxing and gentle technique where therapists believe they act as a channel for energy which they transfer through their hands to aid self-healing, rebalancing and relaxation.

A Reiki session involves sitting or lying down fully clothed, while the practitioner gently places their hands on or just above the body in a sequence of positions that allows energy to flow from the practitioner through to the person.

Some patients find it useful to meet in a group setting and are welcome to take part in the Support Group meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month.

The group gets together to enjoy mutual support, information sharing and facilitated discussion.

Tuina is gentle, meditative massage that uses breathing whilst focusing on a specific acupuncture point, channel, organ or area.

This approach can help to balance the body and deal with conditions such as stress and tiredness.

CanExercise is Cancer Rehabilitation through exercise.

Movements and exercises are incorporated to regain and maintain range of motion, restore physical and emotional balance, reduce your risk of developing lymphoedema or to help control existing lymphoedema, and generally raise your energy levels whilst having fun!

Getting started with cancer treatment is a workshop for anyone recently diagnosed with cancer and their family and friends. It helps you understand cancer and the treatments available, as well as potential side effects, how to manage them, and how to look after yourself. The workshop can help you take an active role in your treatment and recovery. It gives you a chance to ask questions and share your experiences with people who understand what you’re going through.
