There's growing evidence supporting the role of physical activity during and after cancer treatment.

Yoga is a gentle form of exercise and is great for maintaining flexible joints and increasing balance and strength.

Yoga is for everyone. The classes are relaxed and varied with an emphasis on breathing deeply, moving and having fun.

Please note that the session on Tuesday 15 May has been cancelled.

Where Now? is a seven-week course for anyone who has finished their cancer treatment, as well as their friends and family. It offers skills and techniques to support you through this transition period and beyond.

Where Now? helps you manage the physical, emotional and practical issues you may face after your treatment has finished, through a series of group sessions each lasting around three hours. Each session is led by a Cancer Support Specialist and a Clinical Psychologist and offers the chance to explore key issues and concerns alongside other people in a similar situation.

A weekly walking group tailored for people affected by cancer and flexible to suit your own needs.

All our walks are facilitated by experienced walk leaders, and everyone is invited back to Maggie’s for refreshments following the walk.

We only do gentle walking, and tailor each walk to suit whoever joins us. So there's no need to feel that's going to be difficult – just come along and have a go!

Qi Gong is a type of health exercise, practised for centuries by millions of Chinese people.

It's based on repetitions of precise sets of movements, designed to promote the movement of Qi (energy) in the body. A key point in Qi Gong practice is relaxation and deep breathing, both of which are necessary to allow Qi to flow.

Qi Gong is easy to learn and enjoyable to do, and even a few minutes of practise can have an invigorating and rejuvenating effect.

All the sessions are tailored to people with cancer and are flexible to suit your own needs, so you only need to do what feels comfortable.

If you want to take part wear the sort of clothing that allows plenty of unrestricted movement.

This is a drop-in group session, so there's no need to book in advance.

This session is open to hospital staff, who work with people who have cancer, as well as our Centre visitors

Yoga offers a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, combining mind (focus and attention), energy (breathing practices) and body (movement and postures).

The practice of yoga exercises can help to stretch and flex the body, develop breath awareness, relaxation and sometimes meditation.

Our yoga sessions offer the opportunity for gentle restorative exercise and stretching to help build general fitness and resilience. You don't need any previous experience and we'll provide the yoga mats.

Evidence shows that exercise offers many benefits, from reducing fatigue and improving your wellness and physical fitness, to building your confidence during and after cancer treatment.

This is a drop-in session, so there's no need to bvook. And wear casual comfy clothing that won't hinder your movement.

Your treatment has finished, so now what? "Where now?" is for anyone facing life after cancer. It can help you to find a new normaility by addressing the physical, emotional and practical issues you might be facing after treatment.

The 7-week course consists of a series of group sessions, each lasting around three hours. Each session is led by a Cancer Support Specialist and a Clinical Psychologist and offers the chance to explore key issues and concerns alongside other people in a similar situation.

Topics include emotional wellbeing, returning to work, exercise, healthy eating, keeping up momentum and staying on track.

Numbers on the course are limited, so please give us a call to book your place.
