A fashion show was held at Auchterhouse to raise funds for the Maggie’s Dundee on Friday 9 August, raising a massive £18,500 to support people with cancer and their loved ones.
Jane Davidson, the designer fashion boutique from Thistle Street, Edinburgh, brought models and designer clothing along and showed their Autumn/Winter collection together with evening wear.
Afternoon tea by Entiere was served to 200 people during the show.
Willie Auld, a centre visitor, talked about how Maggie's helped him, and the audience responded by giving donations to pay for services Maggie’s provides, such as the Family Day which helps children come to terms with cancer in their family, or even made donations to pay for keeping Maggie’s open for a day.
There was a raffle and a tombola, all of which went together to make the impressive total.
A huge thanks goes to Mr Gerard Eadie for the use of the marquee; Mrs Sarah Murray of Jane Davidson Designer Fashion; C J Lang, owners of Spar Shops, who sponsored the event; Alex of Tay Studio who provided skin consultations and gifts' and Ewan McNicoll who provided drinks.
