We've been working alongside our NHS Occupational Therapy colleagues in running a new programme element which has been very popular across all Maggie’s centres in Scotland.
Our 5 week ‘Regain your Brain’ course is available for people who are experiencing memory and concentration issues as a result of a cancer diagnosis. It's not limited to people who are having treatment but to anyone with a cancer diagnosis.
The course helps people develop strategies to improve their memory and concentration after cancer treatment. It can help with learning new information, planning and organising, and support people in moving forward.
It’s a great example of collaborative working across sectors and disciplines to improve the post-treatment side effects of a cancer diagnosis. If you or someone you know would be interested in our next course, please get in touch with us at the centre.
We're also going to be running a monthly ‘Talking Heads’ workshop, looking at the issues around hair loss and hair regrowth for people on treatment. It can be helpful for people to discuss some of the issues with hairdressing professionals and ask questions that relate to your own situation.
Please contact the team at the centre for more information on 01592 647997 or by email about both of these sessions and to book a place.
