Journaling is a way to explore thoughts, ideas and emotions that you might otherwise find difficult to express, with no skill or experience required.

It can help you to slow down, relax and process your thoughts. Feelings that you might find difficult to put into words can be more easily expressed through metaphors and stories. As a process, writing can help you to learn to understand your feelings, which may help to build your confidence.

If you are interested in the course speak to our team at the centre or call 01592 647997, email fife@maggiescentres.org

Group support is available for people with any type of cancer and their friends and families: before, during or after treatment.

Every group provides an opportunity to talk to other people who are in a similar situation to you, and to share experiences. Groups offer a safe space to express emotions you might not want to share with your friends and family. You might learn from those a little way ahead of you in their journey and develop your own strategies for coping.

Support Groups are led by a psychologist and NHS staff and focus on the emotional impact of cancer.

Concentrating on creating art can help you slow down, relax and process your thoughts. Your unconscious mind can express feelings through pictures, colours and shapes that you might struggle to put into words. And by doing that you may begin to understand more what you’re feeling, which can help to build your confidence.
