Tai Chi is for anyone with cancer or caring for someone with cancer. This practice combines a deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements that put very litte pressure on bones and joints. 

There is also the opportunity to enjoy time with the other group members to chat over coffee around the kitchen table. 

No booking required, just drop in. We run 2 sessions per week:

Living with less stress

Living with less stress

The Living with Less Stress course (6 weeks) every Monday 10:00-12 noon, uses widely accepted, reasearch-based knowledge and skills to help you manage the stresses associated with the cancer journey. The course is facilitated by the Maggie's psychologist and is open to anyone affected by cancer.

Drop in

Practical relaxation exercises to help manage stress and improve wellbeing. These sessions are designed to help you find some peace and calmness. The facilitator will guide you throught the process of relaxing your muscles one by one and letting tension ebb away to a background of relaxing music. Some visualisation is used, which involves asking you to imagine a series of images often including colour and nature.

There is also the opportunity after the session to enjoy a coffee/tea at the kitchen table afterwards.

This 7-week course can help you find a new normality after cancer treatment is finished. The course is usually facilitated by the Maggie’s psychologist, partnered by other health-care professionals to lead discussions in their areas of expertise. Typical topics covered would include healthy eating, physical activty, emotional well-being, and post teatment challenges. There is time at the end of each session to enjoy some social chat over lunch.
