Maggie's recruits support from Brightwork

Thursday 30 March

Brightwork Recruitment have supported Maggie’s Glasgow for a number of years through staff engagement and the dedication of Executive Board Director, Brian Cairney, his wife Margaret, and Main Board Director Charles Turner.

Brightwork Recruitment focuses on supporting those who are most in need within the community, and this is at the core of how they do business. Recently, this was formally acknowledged by their winning Best CSR Initiative Award at the 2016 Recruitment International Awards at Guildhall, London.

Brightwork’s connection to Maggie’s Glasgow began with Just Dance for Maggie’s, the exceptional event led by key supporter Lorraine McInnes.

They sponsored the Grand Prize Raffle on top of their continued support of buying auction prizes and securing tables at the event. They sponsored the raffle with a huge cash prize which led to it raising £8,000 towards the final event total of £50,000.

Julie Sutton, Centre Fundraiser for Maggie’s Glasgow said:

“It costs around £2,400 to keep our Centre open for one day, so this really was such a substantial contribution from Brian and the team that we could never have dreamt of – we’re so grateful to the Brightwork team for all of their continued support; it has been nothing but a pleasure to work with Brian, Margaret and the Brightwork team for the past few years.”

Brian Cairney is an integral member of the Just Dance for Maggie’s volunteer event team and he said:

“Just Dance for Maggie’s has been running for a few years now and it fills me with such pride to see it get stronger and better known each year.

People are so generous with their time and money and it’s amazing to see when it’s all for a charity that is close to my heart.”

We were delighted to see Brightwork’s support expanding last year and a great number of volunteer hours were dedicated to our Christmas Wrapping event in its eleventh year.

When speaking about the dedication that Brightwork put in to their Corporate Social Responsibility, Brian mentioned:

“Brightwork puts CSR front and Centre of what we do and I love being part of a company that devotes itself to leaving the world a better place than we found it.”

Brian Williamson, Chairman of Brightwork Recruitment, was so taken with the work of Maggie’s that he and his wife have paid to dance in Just Dance for Maggie’s 2017, increasing the Brightwork support!
