Group support for people who have experienced bereavement due to cancer

Every group provides an opportunity to talk to other people who are in a similar situation to you, and to share experiences. Groups offer a safe space to express emotions you might not want to share with your friends and family. You might learn from those a little way ahead of you in their journey and develop your own strategies for coping.

Support Groups are led by a psychologist and focus on the emotional impact of cancer.

Eating well during and after cancer treatment can make a real difference to the way you feel. Our nutrition workshops introduce you to types of food that are particularly good for you – and tasty ways to enjoy them.

The workshops also cover treatment-related eating challenges, and offer the chance to ask questions about your own diet.

You will be given a booklet on eating well, a selection of inspiring recipes and recommendations for websites to help you eat healthy, delicious meals.

The workshops are open to people with cancer and their families and friends. This session runs twice a month looking at different topics each time.

Group support is available for people with a brain tumour and their friends and families: before, during or after treatment.

Every group provides an opportunity to talk to other people who are in a similar situation to you, and to share experiences. Groups offer a safe space to express emotions you might not want to share with your friends and family. You might learn from those a little way ahead of you in their journey and develop your own strategies for coping.

Concentrating on creating a scrapbook can help you slow down and process your thoughts, allowing your unconscious mind to express feelings through pictures, colours and shapes that you might find difficult to put into words.  In turn, you might begin to understand more about what you are feeling.

During each session, group members pick their own theme or a share a common theme with the group, and spend time creating their scrapbook inspired by photos, words or personal experiences.
