Expressive art is a way to explore your feelings – particularly those which can be difficult to put into words – with no skill or experience required.

Concentrating on creating art can help you slow down, relax and process your thoughts. Your unconscious mind can express feelings through pictures, colours and shapes that you might struggle to put into words. And by doing that you may begin to understand more what you’re feeling, which can help to build your confidence.

Please note this course does not run continuously, so please call 0151 334 4301 to check when the next session is running.

Eating well during and after cancer treatment can make a real difference to the way you feel. Our new nutrition course will introduce people with cancer and their family and friends to types of food that are particularly good for you – and the most tasty ways to enjoy them!

The course is divided into four sessions and each workshop covers treatment-related eating challenges. It also offers you the opportunity to ask questions about your own diet and healthy eating.

Would you like a place on our nutrition course? Please call us on 0151 334 4301 to find out when the next course will be running and reserve your place.

If you have recently finished treatment and are struggling to come to terms with your diagnosis of cancer, our Where Now? course may be of interest to you. The aim of the course is to improve the ability to manage your life post treatment. A different topic is discussed over the course of the seven week programme.

Running since October 2014, Where Now? looks at the physical, emotional and practical issues that people face when their cancer treatment is over. Comments from previous participants include, "I'm pleased I took the time for myself to do the course over the last weeks" and "I learnt I am emotionally stronger than I thought"

Where Now? is a series of group sessions, each lasting around three hours; each session covers a specific topic and is presented by an expert in the area to help discuss personal goals in relation to the topic for each attendee.

Topics covered include,

  • Exercise post treatment
  • Healthy eating
  • Emotional well being
  • Partnering with your medical team
  • Managing post treatment challenges
  • Keeping up momentum.

If you are interested in taking part in Where Now? give us a ring on 0151 334 4301 or call into our Centre for further details.
