For healthcare professionals

How we can help your patients

We can help your patients make positive changes to support their treatment and recovery in our centres. We can also support their families and friends.

Our evidence-based psychological and emotional support has been shown to significantly reduce anxiety and depression.

Support centres in NHS hospital grounds

Our centres are within easy reach of the NHS hospitals we work with and are open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Each building has been designed to be a warm and welcoming space because we know that the right environment can have a positive impact on wellbeing.

Your patients can drop in to a centre whenever they want, our timetable of groups and activities is free of charge, with no referral or appointment needed and they can access our support for as long as they need it – please tell them to just come in.

Our staff

The people who work in our centres are qualified professionals, usually with a background in the NHS. They are oncology nurses, radiographers, clinical psychologists and benefits advisors.

We also have sessional staff who lead workshops on things like yoga, nutrition, relaxation and creative writing.

Free support for your patients and their families

Our qualified staff guide each person through the parts of our support that are most appropriate to them. The support we offer includes:

  • Courses and workshops designed to make coping with cancer easier
  • Support groups
  • Guidance on how to access the right information
  • Help with understanding treatment choices
  • Advice on managing side-effects
  • Practical help with issues like benefits and nutrition
  • Emotional and psychological support
  • a chance to connect with others around our kitchen table.

Connecting people in our centres

In our centres, our kitchen tables, workshops and support groups offer a chance to meet people with similar experiences in a relaxed setting.
